Send the specification, quantity and delivery postcode and the requirement is quoted for the job.
01
Aggregates, cement and asphalt
The headline materials for civil engineering and groundworks packages, quoted to your specification.
Primary and recycled aggregates to the stated grade
Cement and stabilisation binders
Asphalt supplied against the job requirement
Points to work through
State the grade where the job specifies one, or describe the application where it does not, including what sits beneath and above the layer. Quantities in tonnes or cubic metres both work if the unit is stated.
The quotation is against the stated grade, quantity and delivery point.
02
Drainage and precast
Drainage and precast products alongside the bulk materials for groundworks and civil engineering.
Drainage pipe and fittings
Chambers and ducting
Kerbs and precast concrete products
Points to work through
Drainage and precast lines are most often held up by a missing dimension. Pipe and fittings need diameter, material and joint type; chambers and ducting need internal sizes and depths; kerbs and precast products need the profile or a drawing reference. Where the requirement follows a drainage layout, the drawing reference alone often answers most questions, and the quotation lists each product line against it.
The quotation lists each line against the layout or schedule.
03
Groundworks essentials
Materials for groundworks, with the specification and quantities gathered into one enquiry.
Geotextiles and geogrids
Topsoil and recycled aggregates
Mixed-material orders gathered into one enquiry
Points to work through
For geotextiles and geogrids, include the specified product or performance requirement, intended function, dimensions and quantity. For topsoil, describe the landscaping use and any stated quality requirement. Give the application and specification for recycled material. Keep each item on a separate line so that proposed products and any alternatives can be checked against the job requirement before ordering.
One quotation covers the bulk materials and the smaller essentials together.
Questions about the service
When are availability and delivery confirmed?
Include the site postcode in the enquiry. Availability for the material, quantity and delivery location is confirmed as part of the quotation.
Can one enquiry cover several materials?
Include a separate line for each material with its specification, quantity and unit. Select Mixed materials in the enquiry.
Can you supply technical or conformity documents with the materials?
Ask for the documents you need in the enquiry and they are addressed in the quotation, so what will be provided with the material is agreed before you order rather than chased afterwards.
Can deliveries be phased against our programme?
State the call-off pattern or programme dates in the enquiry. The quotation then sets out the proposed arrangements for phased delivery rather than assuming a single drop.
