The approach

One appointment, clearly defined

See how we work

IWS (UK) Contracting manages civil engineering delivery where the scope, appointment and risk allocation support one customer package. The delivery model and appointment are agreed before the work starts.

Planning the work

Define the package before the work starts

Bring the site information, proposed work package, programme and existing appointments into the first discussion. Identify the work you want managed together and the work that remains with others. This gives the conversation a clear starting point: whether one package fits, where its boundary sits and which information is still needed before the scope can be agreed.

A project may already have a design team, a principal contractor, a phased programme or specialist appointments in place. Set the proposed package alongside those arrangements. Identify the connections between work areas, the information each party needs and the person who can answer a query. The appointment then records the package boundary and the agreed route for decisions and changes.
